How to eliminate burn scars
Scalded scars can be treated with non-surgical treatment and surgical treatment.
Burns of various reasons cause damage and structural destruction of the skin below the dermis, and local scars grow after healing. This is the inevitable result of the deep burn healing process. Treatment methods mainly include pressure therapy, drug therapy, laser therapy and surgical treatment.
1. Pressure therapy: the use of elastic fabrics to continuously pressurize the burn healing site to prevent and reduce scar hyperplasia. The most commonly used clinical method is an elastic sleeve. It is suitable for the prevention and treatment of large-scale scars and is an important method for preventing and treating scar hyperplasia after burns.
2. Drug therapy: There are many drugs used to prevent and treat scar hyperplasia, which can only play a role in inhibiting excessive scar hyperplasia. Commonly used clinically are self-adhesive silicone gel dressings, which are applied to the scar hyperplasia site for external use, and the effect is better; there are also corticosteroids, such as triamcinolone acetonide acetate solution for local scar injection, verapamil, etc., which are all suitable for small Hypertrophic scar. There are also some drugs that have been studied to have certain curative effects, such as compound heparin sodium allantoin gel, peptide growth factors, anti-oxygen free radical preparations, tretinoin, enzymes, antihistamines, and traditional Chinese medicine. There are many external medicines for treating scars. From the perspective of curative effect, they can temporarily relieve the patient's itching, pain and discomfort, and can inhibit the hyperproliferation of scars.
3. Laser treatment: It is suitable for the treatment of small scars and bridge scars after burns. However, some patients developed hyperpigmentation after treatment; or the deep dermis was damaged due to deep irradiation, and the scars were obvious after healing.
4. Surgical treatment: Burn scars often proliferate and contractures, which have affected functional activities. In severe cases, it can cause the displacement or damage of body surface tissues or organs or the disability of limbs. Burn scars are often extensive, often involving multiple organs or parts, especially the head, face, neck and hands. Not only the function and appearance are affected, but also a great mental and psychological burden is required. Surgery is required to restore appearance and function.
